TMSA is pleased to announce the launch of a new Initiative TMSA talks with the tagline “Connect, Share, Learn and Inspire”. TMSA talks will provide a common platform to connect and collaborate with students, teachers, parents and industry professionals. We will use this forum to connect with subject matter experts from the industry and have them share their learnings with us as a team.  The intent is to learn from them, to inspire our thoughts so as to complement our academic learnings with real life experience as outlined belowThis new initiative is primarily focused towards High School Students with interest in pursuing careers in STEM fields.

  • Participants will have the opportunity to gain new knowledge from Industry professionals in a manner that promotes practical aspects.
  • TMSA talks will allow for discovery and meaningful learning to enable creative thinking among participants thru 101 lectures.
  • The experience is enriched further through collaboration, where students from diverse backgrounds and interests work together along with Parents to learn from each other, as well as Industry peers with similar passions and get inspired.
  • This initiative is to foster an environment where each student can live up to his or her full potential as well as build their self-confidence and grow as individuals.
  • This forum will help students, to have a better understanding of their learning interests and how to align them to meet their career goals and objectives

As the first of many speakers, we had the State Chief Risk & Security Officer – Ms.Maria Thompson come to TMSA and give a presentation on Cybersecurity on 4th October, in honor of October being National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM).

NSCAM which is an annual campaign to raise awareness about cyber security. We live in a world that is more connected than ever before. The Internet touches almost all aspects of everyone’s daily life, whether we realize it or not. This initiative is designed to engage and educate public and private sector partners through events and initiatives to raise awareness about cyber security, provide them with tools and resources needed to stay safe online, and increase the resiliency of the Nation in the event of a cyber incident.

It also builds strong public/private partnerships to create and implement broad-reaching education and awareness efforts to empower users at home, work and school with the information they need to keep themselves, their organizations, their systems and their sensitive information safe and secure online and encourage a culture of cybersecurity.
