Mrs. Newkirk's Weekly Update

Dear TMSA Family,

We had a great week here at TMSA!  I want to thank all the volunteers for their tireless effort to assist the TMSA family in a variety of ways!  One volunteer helped with lost and found and we contacted all the students' homerooms to have students recover their items.  Unfortunately we have a lot of items without names taking over the front desk area and conference room.  Please label all items so we can get them back to the owners.

TMSA Wellness Policy

We want TMSA to be an environment that nourishes and supports everyone at the school.  This is why TMSA now has a school wellness policy.  Health and wellness are important for the students, the staff and us all.  Kids who attend schools that practice healthy habits have fewer absences, higher academic achievement and self-esteem, and are more likely to graduate from high school.

From the Desk of Mrs. Wood

Dear Parents-

When a student is absent, parents or guardians must notify the school in the morning or any day their child is not attending.  The best way to inform the school is to send me an email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).  TMSA accepts excusable reasons that are listed in the Handbook.

Teachers take attendance every period.  The absences listed on the progress and report cards, are for PERIOD absences, not daily.  Nine period absences equals to one day absence.
