International Trip to Turkey

Dear All, 

I’m excited to let you know that we are organizing our 2nd Annual International Trip to Turkey, over Spring Break. (April 11th -20th)

This trip is open to 4th – 7th grade students. This being said,  4th and 5th grade students must be accompanied by their parent/guardian.

All TMSA parents are invited to this trip.

Successful Spanish project

In Spanish as in any language the music, especially songs are didactic tools used by foreign langue teachers around the world with the purpose of making our students more fluent while learning new vocabulary and helping them reduce the accent; and last but no least getting them to know the culture.

Upper Grades Math Finishes Quarter Strong

Mrs. Thomas's math classes worked very hard this past week putting the final touches on projects and acing tests to end the 1st quarter on a high note.

Math Olympiad team at the NCSU

Math Olympiad went to the NC State University for the Math Circle program. Math Circle is an enrichment program for middle school students.

5A Language Arts: Cultural Sharing Day

Students in fifth grade language arts classes have been reading about various cultures around the world. We have discussed what our family heritage means to us, and how important it is to pass traditions on to each generation.

Holiday Celebrations

First grade is starting a study of holiday celebrations.

First Grade is starting a study of holiday celebrations. We kicked things off with a study of Diwali and what it means, its importance to the Hindi culture, why it is celebrated, and different things that can be done during this Celebration of Lights.

This week in music, students have been applying the breadth of their musical knowledge by singing some of their favorite pieces (and even composing some of their own!).

STEM EXPO Opportunity at TMSA

Dear TMSA Parents, 

I am very excited to announce that we are holding a STEM EXPO in our school here at TMSA this year. This is a hands-on version of a science fair. We are planning to organize this event sometime in March or April. The purpose of this event is to expose our kids to science, technology, engineering and math in real life situations.
