The piñata week!

The last week the Spanish students from 4th grade learned the Latin-American traditional way to make a piñata.  They enjoyed the experience and as a teacher I really enjoyed to see them working hard to get beautiful piñatas.

Reenrollment forms were due January 17th.  If you did not turn in your form, you may lose your spot for next school year.  If you have another child that will be joining TMSA next year, you will need to fill out the online application for them.  Siblings will not be in the lottery, they will have first priority.

Cyber-Tigers Competed in State Level FLL

I would like to share some information about the FLL team, Cyber-Tiger’s recent competition. TMSA's Robotics Team, Cyber Tigers competed in the FLL State competition held in Greensboro on Saturday, January 11, 2014. Members of 6th & 7th grade team worked very hard since this fall, and especially the past couple of weeks, preparing for this State competition. Nearly 400 students representing around 50 teams from NC competed for a trip to FIRST Lego League World Festival in St. Louis. This is the first year for TMSA Cyber Tigers team participating at the State level.

TMSA’s First Annual Geography Bee

On Wednesday, January 15th, TMSA held its first annual Geography Bee.  The Geo Bee is a competition, sponsored by the National Geographic Society to help students showcase their understanding of world geography through a friendly competition.  Ms. New and Mrs. Pamuk held class level competitions during their Social Studies class to determine the participants for the school level competition.  Each homeroom had one representative in the school level competition.  We would like to congratulate the following students for a job well done:
