Each month K-3 teachers will select one student from each class that has shown their Tiger Pride. Winners for each month will have their pictures placed on the Wall of Tiger Pride with a brief description of why they were nominated and what Tiger Pride character trait(s) they exhibited.
All students at Triangle Math and Science Academy are expected to follow the Tiger Pride Rules:
- P - Be Proactive
- R- Be Respectful
- I- Show Integrity
- D- Be Determined
- E- Exceed Expectations.
Our staff members will refer to this as showing our Tiger Pride. We want all of our TMSA Tigers to show their Tiger Pride! All students are explicitly taught what it looks like to be proactive, respectful, show integrity, be determined, and exceed expectations. Examples of what each expectation means:
A PROACTIVE student is someone who takes charge of a situation. They are responsible for their actions, attitudes, and moods. They don’t blame others for their wrong actions. They do the right thing without being asked or told, even when no one is looking.
A RESPECTFUL student is someone who puts themselves in someone else’s shoes and behaves in a way that shows they care. They show that they value other people’s perspectives, time, and space. They are polite, kind, and care about others.
A student who has INTEGRITY is honest and can be trusted. They have strong moral principles.
A student who is DETERMINED is someone who never gives up even when things get hard!
A student who EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS is someone who goes above and beyond what someone has asked of them.
