Bebras Computing Challenge Finals Results at Clemson University

Once again, TMSA students have proven they can excel in STEM competitions, no matter how far away from home!

On Saturday, March 25th, select TMSA Computer Science students attended the Bebras Computing Challenge at Clemson University, in Clemson, South Carolina.
Organized in over 30 countries, the Bebras Computing Challenge introduces computational and logical thinking to all student levels. For our region, Clemson University's newly constructed Watt Innovation Center was the spectacular host for attendees from across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. After a rigorous selection process, TMSA Computer Science students in 6th grade and 7th grade were extended invitations to attend. Students were given a welcome lunch upon arrival, and then were treated to a lecture from Clemson Computer Science Professor and USA Computing Olympiad director Brian Dean.
For this Challenge, we had 11 students and their families to make the long journey to upstate South Carolina. These students are:

Benjamin Division (grade 6th):

Alan Choi

Amanda Hopkins

Falisha Khokhar

Braden Thomas

Noah Koch

Neha Srinivasa

Samara Eguiarte Reyes

Alexandra Kratz

Jack Rissanen

Zofia Hughes

Cadet Division (grade 7th):

Zayd Ali

At the end of the day, TMSA students Falisha Khokhar and Alexandra Kratz finished tied for 2nd place, while Samara Eguiarte Reyes finished 1st place overall in the Benjamin division.
TMSA is extremely proud of these students, and is very thankful for the welcome we received from Clemson University's Computer Science Department. Congratulations to all selected students for this special recognition!
